KEA typically releases a provisional answer key within about a week of the exam, opens a short window for candidates to raise objections against specific questions, then publishes a final answer key that's used to compute results.
How the process works
- Provisional key released: published on the official portal along with candidates' scanned response sheets (OMR/answer copies). In 2026, this covered all 16 question paper versions across Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, released April 27.
- Objection window opens: candidates can challenge specific answers within a short fixed window. In 2026, objections were open until April 30, 5:00 PM, with no objection fee charged.
- Expert review: KEA's subject experts review valid objections.
- Final answer key published: incorporates any accepted corrections, and is the key used to calculate the official result. In 2026, the final key included grace marks awarded for a Physics and a Chemistry question, and accepted two valid options for one Biology question.
Only challenge an answer if you're confident it's genuinely wrong. Whether an objection fee applies, and how much, is set fresh by KEA each year; 2026 had no fee, but don't assume that repeats automatically.
