Colleges that accept DCET

Last checked against the official KEA site: August 2026

DCET lateral entry is accepted by government, aided and private engineering colleges statewide, including both day and evening programmes, covering more than 17,000 second-year seats a year.

Filter sourced engineering institutions accepting diploma lateral entry in our Karnataka Colleges Directory or compare options in the College Comparison Tool.

Broad categories of participating colleges

The same institution types that accept KCET also accept DCET lateral entry, since it feeds into the same second-year engineering cohort: government engineering colleges, university constituent colleges, private aided colleges, private unaided colleges, and autonomous institutions. See colleges accepting KCET for a fuller breakdown of these categories — DCET seats sit alongside KCET seats at the same institutions, just entering at the second-year mark instead of the first.

How to research a specific college

Check directly with the institution for current affiliation and accreditation (AICTE/NBA/NAAC as applicable), and specifically confirm it takes lateral-entry students into your target branch — not every college offers lateral entry into every branch it runs from first year. See the searchable colleges directory for sourced profiles (most also accept DCET), and use the comparison tool to weigh eligible colleges side by side.
